The Company and its subsidiaries are principally engaged in (1) manufacture and sales of Chinese patent medicine; (2) wholesale, retail, import and export of western and Chinese pharmaceutical products and medical apparatus; and (3) research and development of natural medicine and biological medicine.

The Company issued 219,900,000 H shares in Hong Kong in October 1997. In Jannary 2001, the Company issued 78,000,000 A shares in the PRC. As at 31 December 2006, the total number of shares issued by the company amounted to 810,900,000 shares.
